Summer Junior Lessons – Book Early!

Junior group sessions will be running in the school summer holidays. Eleven sessions are planned at Hollins Hall, Baildon. All ages and abilities are welcome, and equipment can be provided if necessary. The sessions will involve practice on the driving range and short game area, along with playing holes on the course in a group format learning rules and course etiquette on the way! Fun competitions will be included eg. putting, bunker shots. For details of dates and times please click on ‘Events’ at the top of the page. I have recently been appointed as Golf Professional at Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel & Country Club, Baildon. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to develop and maintain a teaching academy for members, residents, guests and all my existing customers. My new role will also involve providing professional services for corporate golf events.

The golf facilities at Hollins Hall include: 18 hole championship course, chipping and putting practice area, driving range, dedicated teaching studio and pro shop.

Remember Golf is a TARGET GAME. This may sound obvious but I have lost count of how many golfers don’t aim properly when they play or practice. Most golfers understand the principal of aiming but because the human eyes are designed to look directly at something, the moment you stand sidewards to a target (as with golf) your view of the club face and target changes. This was highlighted to me at a coaching conference I attended – amazingly 98.6% of golfers mis-align when they putt! So although golfers are constantly working on their technique, without good aim a golfer would always struggle to find consistency. The key to working on your aim is to find out what your tendency is when setting up i.e. do you favour the left or right side of the hole, fairway, course? A half hour lesson with me would give you the knowledge and skills to dramatically improve your accuracy, helping you to lower your scores and enjoy your game more.
