Studying golf unlocks the door to a rewarding and exciting career in a sport that spans the globe and is played by 60 million people. Golf is now a profession with a recognised career structure and fantastic employment opportunities both in the UK and overseas.
As a Golf Academy player, full coaching and training facilities are available for you to use in structured practice sessions under the guidance of our golf academy manager, Mark Tyler PGA Golf Professional. It is acknowledged that you may have your own PGA Professional from whom you currently receive coaching. In these circumstances the Golf Academy Manager will maintain a working dialogue with your personal Golf Coach.
Golf Academy Membership – What it means for you
- As a Golf Academy member you will be given an individual coaching programme. After an initial analysis and evaluation this will focus on your personal performance encompassing shot making abilities, the golf swing, physical and mental fitness, the ability to learn how to identify your own improvement needs and monitor progress.
- There will be opportunity to enter local, regional and National competitions.
- Regular competition between other members of the academy.
- Opportunity to participate in end of year residential with other Sport and Travel and Tourism students (08-09 tour in Lanzarote)
- Facilities include access to fully covered and floodlit golf driving range, long game practice area, short game practice area and putting green
- Choices of academic programme options are available depending on your academic ability: BTEC National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence in Sport), BTEC First Diploma in Sport and BTEC Introductory Diploma in Sport and Leisure.
