Studio news

Studio Open Days

If you couldn’t make the last open event then there is another opportunity this coming Saturday 10:00am-11:00am. The informal session will involve a brief talk and demonstration on the technology available in the studio and why it would benefit you. There will also be an opportunity to hit some balls yourself to experience firsthand how the technology works.

Please let a member of the Pro Shop team know if you’d like to attend to give us an idea on numbers. FREE coffee for all attendees!

Bookings have been flooding in over the past week for the Mark Tyler Golf 2018/19 Studio Winter League.

Entry Fee: £30.00 per person
Format: 9-Hole Individual Stableford (full handicap) played monthly November to February.
Prizes: Monthly winner & the best 3 scores from 4 to decide the league prizes 1st & 2nd.

Book your monthly game on a day/time convenient for you, individually or as part of a group (max.4 players).

Motocaddy Ex-rental Trolleys

We will once again be selling off our two Motocaddy S1 electric rental trolleys (18 months old) at the end of the year. Both are in excellent condition and come complete with battery charger and extended range lithium battery. The cost new would be £499.99 but we are happy to sell these for £299.99 each.

Last few TaylorMade demo clubs for sale - grab a bargain!

Many of you have recently taken advantage of our end of season demo club sale but we still have a number of the latest M3 and M4 drivers, fairways and hybrids available. All of the clubs are in superb condition and include custom fitting. If you have clubs to trade-in then we can arrange this for you via Golf Bidder. Their price is simply deducted from the cost of your chosen clubs and we do the rest!

PING Fitting Day - only 2 slots remain!

Coming to West Bradford GC on Wednesday 7th November is our very first PING Club Fitting Day.

The full range of equipment will be available to demo, including the awesome G400 range of drivers, fairways, hybrids & irons and the latest i210 and i500 irons.

The event will take place outside by the driving bay with the studio as a back-up in case of bad weather.

Booking is essential so make sure you don’t miss out by contacting the Pro Shop to guarantee your slot.

Following on from a successful shoe ‘Trade-In’ offer earlier this year, we are delighted to announce we are once again running this for the next couple of weeks.

A second pair of eyes

Below is a great example of why lessons are invaluable as they provide a second pair of eyes! The first picture shows a golfer addressing his ball ready to putt. Notice how the putter shaft leans back (to the golfers right) which positions the hands behind the ball and tends to aim the putter face left.

The second picture shows a shaft lean more forwards (towards the target) positioning the hands in line with the ball and the putter face square to the hole. Simple stuff but with dramatic results, call the Pro Shop to book your lesson today or click here to book now!

Junior golf alive and kicking at WBGC!

Another superb junior coaching session took place last Saturday in glorious autumn sunshine. Highlights of the session were Ted pitching into the hole from 40 yards with his sand wedge, and Callum holing a tricky downhill putt on the 1st green from around 30 feet to win the weekly competition!

This autumn/winter we would love to put a tailored coaching package together for you, to help you achieve your golfing goals next season!

Utilising the indoor Performance Studio upstairs in the Pro Shop, we can work on your game in a warm comfortable environment during the off season.

Totally bunkers!

The proposed changes to the Rules of Golf are less than three months away so we thought we'd look at one introduction which will put your mind at ease when you find yourself in a tricky situation within a bunker...

You may not be aware but under the current ruling, you cannot take relief outside the bunker once you've already made an attempt to play the ball from inside. However, under the proposed changes (19.3b), and for two penalty strokes, you will have the additional option of taking relief outside the bunker by dropping a ball back on the line from the hole through where your ball was at rest in the bunker. Phew.

Go the distance

We've all been there - around 75 yards out and faced with a tricky little pitch shot towards a tight pin; danger over the back and a tier just before the flag that will take anything short down to the front edge.

The first stage in overcoming potential card wreckers like this is knowing how far you hit a full shot with each of your wedges. The second is having three different distances that you can comfortably hit with each, adding to your options when faced with this scenario.
