Rain never stops play at Bracken Ghyll

Last Saturday was a dreadful day of weather with heavy rain and strong winds. This didn’t deter some of our younger golfers with the weekly coaching sessions running as normal.

The first group had an indoor session in the golf studio. The second group ventured out onto the course to play a few holes.

The weather deteriorated very quickly and we all got drenched! There were still lots of smiles and laughter amongst the group though!

The Fleet!

We now have three 2-seater buggies for hire at Bracken Ghyll, with a fourth to be added in the near future.

These are very popular so make sure you book yours in advance via the Pro Shop.

Time for a little refresh?

If you're still wearing polos from years gone by that have threads hanging off and buttons missing then it's probably time you upgraded your wardrobe - wouldn't you agree?

No distractions

It's not always easy to get in the zone or feel completely comfortable over the ball so, when you do, the last thing you need is to look down and be distracted by your shoes. Variety is the spice of life

Whatever happened to having a ‘textbook’ swing? If you were to watch golf on TV you’d see all sorts of different swings that have propelled these golfers to the top of the world, and the same can be said on the greens too.

TaylorMade Spider X putter

There's definitely no single approach when it comes to how you grip your putter. You have a more traditional no-fuss approach that is favoured by the likes of Tiger Woods; a left-below-right grip which is a recent craze made famous by Jordan Spieth's putting heroics; and then the opposite extreme in anchoring that has recently been banned by the R&A.

That's gripping the club but what about the actual putter itself?
