President’s Day 2019

A great day was had by all last Saturday for Mike Robertson’s President’s Day.

The weather was superb with excellent scoring from a field of around 140 players, followed by a superb buffet provided by The Clubhouse in the evening.

Congratulations Milke on organising a superb day for the members.

Charity Day at Bracken Ghyll

Bracken Ghyll hosted club member Ben Rhodes’ Charity Golf Day on Wednesday with 22 teams of four playing.

A fantastic amount of over £2000 was raised for Pendleside Hospice.

'Team Tyler' finished in 3rd place with yours truly also collecting the nearest the pin prize! Needless to say I received quite a lot of stick about the result!

Ladies Rohnisch autumn/winter range

We are delighted to announce that we have taken delivery of a range of Rohnisch Ladies clothing, including long-sleeved shirts, lined trousers, down jackets and gilets and matching padded caps.

Now we are official stockists we are able to order in specific styles/colours as required.

Men’s PING autumn/winter range

So as not to leave the gents out, the Men’s PING autumn/winter range is now available in store. Garments include mid-layers, jackets and gilets.

Flop shot required

Type ‘flop shot’ into Google and Phil Mickelson’s name will be at the top of the search. The five-time Major champion is the go-to guy when it comes to shots around the green, especially the flop shot. So, if you want to follow suit and impress your golfing partners, here’s our guide to this magical shot.

Technique

The first thing you must do is accelerate through the ball and stay aggressive. It's when we get a little scared or take our eye off the ball that things start to go wrong, all of which we can explain during a short game lesson.

Wedge

Your wedge plays a vital role with worn grooves and incorrect bounce leaving you at risk of a bladed shot through the green. Nightmare!
