Always Learning!

On Tuesday I spent the day at Woodsome Hall Golf Club, Huddersfield, attending a Foremost Golf retail workshop.

Whenever possible I attend these events to help keep my industry knowledge up to date, and more importantly to bring back a few ideas to ensure club members and all our customers have the best experience when visiting the Pro Shop, whether that be during lessons, club fittings or purchasing goods from us. It was an extremely informative day and always good to chat with other PGA Pro’s from around the North Region.

Last few spaces remain for La Cala

The last few places remain for my overseas coaching/golf trip to La Cala Golf Resort in Spain, Sunday 1st March to Thursday 5th March 2020. A summary of the trip is as follows:

Four Nights B&B in Hotel (twin room) - Option for single room if preferred.
Three Rounds (One on each of the three courses) including buggies.
Coaching (range balls included).
Daily spa access (1.5 hours per day).
Private airport transfers.
All this for the fantastic price of £595 per person + flight/clubs (currently £155 per person).

Pre-Round Warm-Up

We always recommend warming up with a few shots prior to your game. Some people do, but most don’t!

Well, now you can by taking advantage of our studio warm-up offer. The cost is £5.00 for a 20-minute session on the virtual driving range.

Be ‘game ready’ when you tee off.
Avoid potential muscle injuries.
Practice in a dry & warm environment.
See accurate shot information (distance, dispersion etc.).

Trade-In, Trade Up!

If you’re considering changing your equipment but wondering what to do with your existing ones, we offer a trade-in service.

Subject to the brand, age & condition of your clubs, we will obtain a quote from online company Golf Bidder whilst you are in-store. If you’re happy with the valuation we simply knock this amount off the price of your new clubs and you pay the balance! It really is that easy!

They've done it again

Without further ado, let us introduce TaylorMade’s scintillating Milled Grind 2 wedge and look at why it's such a good option to be putting in the scoring part of your bag.

Now this wedge is quite unique. It's all to do with Raw Face Technology, which increases spin and feel compared with the original Milled Grind.

Winter is coming

Have you ever noticed how much harder you need to hit your putts in the winter compared to summer? As surfaces begin to slow due to longer grass and wetter greens, the need for a little extra effort on your putting stroke becomes clear.

Should you change your putter?

As putts need to be hit harder to get the ball going the same distance as they do in the summer months, using a heavier putter certainly won’t do you any harm.

The thought here is that a heavier putter will do more of the work for you, allowing for a smooth and more controlled putting stroke.

Whilst still being relatively lightweight compared to some putters in the range (Valor is 30g heavier), PING's Sigma 2 Wolverine putter is certainly an option we'd recommend you trying.

It's not always easy to keep up with the latest trends in fashion or to understand the newest technology that comes to market.
