2019/20 Studio Winter League - a first at Bracken Ghyll!

Bookings are now being taken in the Pro Shop for the Mark Tyler Golf 2019/20 Studio Winter League.

One-off Entry Fee: £30.00 per person

Format: 9-Hole Individual Stableford (full handicap) played monthly November to February on a pre-selected course (tee used / weather conditions etc. will vary)

Prizes: Monthly winner & the best 3 scores from 4 to decide the league prizes 1st & 2nd.

Book your monthly game on a day/time convenient for you, individually or as part of a group (max.4 players). All you need to do is sign up and play your first 9-holes before 30th November.

This event is open to all, so why not invite a friend from a local club or a work colleague, and combine it with a few drinks and meal from The Clubhouse.

Pre-Round Warm-Up

We always recommend warming up with a few shots prior to your game. Some people do, but most don’t!

Well, now you can by taking advantage of our studio warm-up offer. The cost is £5 for a 20-minute session on the virtual driving range.

The benefits:

Be ‘game ready’ when you tee off.
Avoid potential muscle injuries.
Practice in a dry & warm environment.
See accurate shot information (distance, dispersion etc.).

Get your range in

There may be fewer competitions down the club at this time of year, but that doesn’t mean you should hang the clubs up until spring. Winter provides the perfect opportunity to correct the wrongs and get your game in a better place ahead of 2020 when the season starts again.

If you rewind to spring 2019, was your game rusty or were you firing on all cylinders straight away?

It's often the case that golfers struggle for consistency at the start and it's only then that they come to us for lessons or to work on their game.

Who remembers the days of hickory shafted clubs and plus fours? Some people say that golf was harder back then with a lot less help from our equipment, so we thought we'd take you on a trip down memory lane to see how far technology has come. Enjoy the ride.

PING G410 Plus driver

We're certain that the first image above has brought back some fond memories for a lot of you - some of you may still have one in the bag!

Once upon a time, small clubhead sizes were the norm, which offered very little in the way of forgiveness off the tee with adjustability just another way of saying you needed to change up your swing.

Thankfully, technology continues to develop and today's drivers are unrecognisable from what's been and come before.

Take PING's G410 Plus driver as an example. It boasts a moveable weight on the perimeter of the head that allows us to promote a fade, draw or neutral ball flight. It all means one thing - a custom fitting is crucial.
