Course looking great

I enjoyed a game last week with club member Nick Helm and a couple of friends. The course was in great shape and looked fabulous bathed in sunshine.

I'm hoping to play a round a week if time allows, so I'll hopefully see a few of you out on the course.

Custom fitting works!

The first of our recent custom fit club orders have started to arrive, with today's deliveries including a set of Ping G410 irons, complete with the impressive 2020 Ping 'Pioneer' cart bag. We also had a set of TaylorMade Sim Max irons arrive ready for customer handover later this week.

Golf equipment is a sizeable investment for most people and as such should be chosen carefully. We have invested in the technology to take the guesswork out of buying new clubs.

Coaching update

The lesson diary has continued to fill up and we have received lots of great feedback from our pupils.

Having lessons doesn't have to mean your game gets worse before it gets better, as BGGC member Jake (pictured) found out at the end of last week. Following his 30-minute lesson outside on the practice area, Jake went out on the course and recorded his lowest gross score to date!

And the streak continues

Dustin Johnson is a remarkable golfer. Sorry for stating the obvious – he is third in the Official World Golf Rankings after all – but his record speaks for itself.

His victory at the weekend was his 21st in total. It was also the 13th season in a row that DJ has won on the PGA Tour. To put that into perspective, only Palmer (17), Nicklaus (17) and Woods (14) boast a better record to start off their careers.

The only question mark hanging over his head is his inability to get over the line in Major championships, with just a sole U.S. Open victory to his name thus far. Maybe the big-hitting American is finding his form at the perfect time with an exciting few months ahead in the world of golf.
