Golf on Tour

Tiger returns!

Tiger Woods made his return to golf at The Memorial Tournament, playing at a Jack Nicklaus-designed course alongside Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka. That’s pretty cool!

Muirfield Village, better known as Jack’s Place, proved to be a brutal beast. 3-over was enough to make the cut and even-par enough for a share of 10th, with even the world’s best notching double and triple bogeys.

Jon Rahm became just the second Spaniard in history, behind Seve Ballesteros, to become World No.1 after a convincing victory in Ohio. Despite going +5 on Sunday’s back-nine, Rahm cruised to a three-stroke win.

Rahm’s final score of -9 will not jump off the page of PGA Tour winners, but numbers could never tell the story of just how much Jack’s Place demanded.

Junior news

Congratulations...

Congratulations to BGGC junior members, Ethan and Jack who competed in the Junior Open at Keighley Golf Club on Wednesday.

Ethan (right) won the overall event with 42 points and Jack finished third in Division Two with 36 points.

Both boys have attended regular coaching with me over the past year and assisted with the younger Junior group as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Pro shop news

Club Handovers

A busy week in the Pro Shop with several customers collecting their custom fit equipment.

Handovers so far this week have included TaylorMade Sim Max and P790 irons, PING G410 irons and a set of Callaway Mavrik irons.

Following a handover, customers are invited back into the studio around four-six weeks later for a FREE follow-up appointment.

Following a 30-minute lesson with me a week ago, BGGC member Neil Riley played in last week's July Monthly Stableford, scored 38 points and finished second in Divison Two! 

This just goes to show that having lessons dosen't have to mean your game gets worse before it gets better!

Gapping: How, what & why?

How well do you know each club in your bag? Perhaps more importantly, how well do you know your entire set? Your clubs are not individual tools, so it's always useful to look at them as a set to identify any problematic areas.
