Prioritise what you work on As a PGA Pro, part of my role is to improve club golfers through expert coaching and advice. Golfers tend to get bogged down with multiple swing thoughts and different theories, especially with all the information available online. If you book a lesson with me at Bracken Ghyll, my experience over nearly 30 years of coaching allows me to quickly prioritise which area to work on. The pictures on the left were taken during an hour session earlier this week. The images top and bottom left show the golfers' original set-up. The images on the right were taken near the end of the session. The key changes were: - Club face alignment - originally closed or left.
- Grip change - originally LH was weak (too far left) and the RH was strong (too far right).
- Reduction in shaft lean - almost certainly stemmed from the incorrect grip/club face position.
- Improvement in posture - originally too much knee flex and spine angle too upright.
